Schulz Charitable Foundation Grant Guidelines

The Schulz Charitable Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors will consider grant requests which fall within the Mission Statement and conform to the Grant making guidelines of the Schulz Charitable Foundation, Inc.

Applications are generally reviewed and processed by the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis. Applications for grants must by precisely written, defining the particular program for which monies are being requested, the program's objectives, the personnel responsible for the administration of the programs as well as the budget and funding sources other than the Schulz Charitable Foundation. Once a grant has been made, grantees should keep the Foundation informed and the Schulz Charitable Foundation will make site visits whenever possible. Grants are made once a year, usually in the same quarter. Grants are not automatically renewed and a written request must be made each year for further funding.

New or repeat applicants for grants are requested to provide the following information:

  1. The Schulz Charitable Foundation, Inc. only considers grants initiated by a written request received from the applicant. Grants are considered as they are received and are subject to the Board of Directors approval at the relevant quarterly meeting. Grants are typically awarded for a one-year period, but multi year requests will be entertained under special circumstances. Subsequent requests for support from the Foundation should be accompanied by a full and formal request early in the quarter that the annual grant is due to terminate.
  2. Applicants for grants should include your objectives, and how the grant will support them. A budget or financial statement specifically defining known and probable other sources for funding this project is requested. A copy of your organization's IRS tax-exempt (not-for-profit) designation letter including the identification number must accompany the grant application.
  3. Communication with the Schulz Charitable Foundation is greatly encouraged. During the grant year, we welcome progress reports about the organization and the particular program we are funding. As part of our need for feedback, you can send us annual reports, newsletters, and other general information about your program and your organization. Along with your request for renewal of the grant, we expect a summary report on the use of the previous grant funds toward the achievement of your project as well as your own assessment of the effectiveness of the program.
  4. We welcome the receipt of personal comments written to us by participants in programs benefiting from Schulz Charitable Foundation support. Their relections on their personal experiences are beneficial to our assessment both of the program and the fulfillment of our mission.
  5. Please inform us of changes in your organization such as the contact person or persons, their titles, address, phone and fax numbers.

The Schulz Charitable Foundation, Inc. does not make grants to individuals, religious sects or institutions for the purposes of supporting, sustaining or promulgating a particular faith or to political parties or programs. The Schulz Charitable Foundation, Inc. normally does not make grants for endowments or capital expenditures except in select instances which are of special interest to the Directors.
